US Crime, Information, Immigration Agencies
FBI - Federal Bureau of Investigation - This is the chief investigative agency of the United States government and a division of the U.S. Department of Justice. The FBI investigates federal crimes and protects the United States from foreign intelligence and terrorist activities.
CIA- Central Intelligence Agency - This agency was created in 1947 to gather information and conduct secret operations to protect the country's national security.
DEA - Drug Enforcement Administration - This agency is part of the U.S. Department of Justice and was established in 1973. The primary task of the agency is to reduce the supply of illicit drugs that are produced domestically or enter the U.S. from abroad. The DEA also regulates the legal trade of narcotic and dangerous drugs and works with other agencies to support drug traffic prevention.
INS - Immigration and Naturalization Service - This is an agency of the United States Department of Justice and is empowered to administer the federal laws relating to the admission, exclusion, and deportation of aliens and also to manage the naturalization of aliens lawfully residing in the U.S.
